Chengdu

      Chengdu is a bright pearl in West China. Muma Mountain looking like a ferocious tiger lies in the south and Longquan Mountain looking like a swimming dragon extends to the east. Beautiful Jiuzhaigou scenic spot, national scenic spot-Xiling Snowy Mountain both in the west and Qingcheng Mountain.Dujiangyan Dam, Longchi National forest Park, Yinchanggou scenic spot all in the north are created by the nature with superlative craftsmanship. Surging Minjiang River is divided by Dujiangyan Dam, the Fuhe River and the Nanhe River meet in the eastern suburb of the city. Weaving broader, Shu embroidery, Hemp paper and Lacquer ware are world-famous since ancient times. So Chengdu is a famous historic and cultural city in China.

      Today, Chengdu has a population of 9.700.000 with nine districts, four cities and six counties under its jurisdiction, covering a total area of 12,390km. Baoji-Chengdu, Chengdu-Chongqing, Chengdu-Kunming and Chengdu-Daxian railways meet here. Chengdu-Chongqing, Chengdu-Mianyang, Chengdu-Leshan, Chengdu-Ya’an, Chengdu-Dujiangyan expressways radiate from Chengdu to every corner of the province. The civil aviation in Chengdu is forging rapidly ahead too, with many direct flights for major cities in the country and more and more flights for foreign cities in the world. Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, has been the southwestern centre of technology, business and trade, finance, tour and a hub of transportation and communication. Modern civilization and ancient cultural relics add radiance and beauty to each other and both are thriving.

      Chengdu is also a famous tourist city. It has two State-level, seven provincial and two city-level scenic spots, three State-level and two provincial level forest parks, one state-level and two provincial-level natural reserves.
