Bamboo sea of south Sichuan

a） introduction: Bamboo sea stretches across Changning County and Jiang'an County.Bamboos are here, there and everywhere. In winter far and wide there is nothing to be seen but the silvery white; in summer all one can see is verdant. It is a rare green Bamboo Sea in the world. Bamboo Sea, Dinosaurs, Stone Forest and Suspended Coffins are "four wonders" of South Sichuan. Bamboo Sea was rated as a national major spot of beauty listed by the State Council in 1988. There are above 30 kinds of bamboos such as Nan bamboo,fishpole bamboo, concave bamboo and so on. Bamboo Sea extending over 500 mountain ridges are luxuriantly green, especially in summer. In a boundless expanse of green waves there are a lot of scenic spots, such as Ancient Cave of Immortal Residence, Forgot -Anxiety Glen, Multi-colored Cliffside Waterfall, Inky Stream and Flowing Waters etc. At nightfall the music of lutes and the croaking of frogs rising one after another are sweet sounds which are seldom heard in the world. This makes people have the sense of lofty mountain and flowing waters.

 The main scenes include: Mo Stream, Wangyou Valley, Jadeite Long Corridor, Xianyu Cave, Tianbao Stockaded Valley, Tianhuang Temple, Fairy Mainden Lake, Yingfeng Bay, etc. in the scenic spots there are Bamboo Sea Museum, old folk residences on Mount Xijia and fish fossils. It is a comparatively big primeval ecological bamboo forest combining mountains , rivers , karst caves, lakes and falls with artificial scenes of long history. Its  landscape is very picturesque and graceful.

c)Scenic climate: The average altitude of bamboo forest is between 600m to 1000m, annual mean temperature15.5°C.In spring, in the Bamboo Sea, besides a full eye’s greenness, it seems the fresh cool air is filled with the sweet smell of bamboo. In summer, the spots of sunlight dotting in the bamboo world, the shiny water of lakes and ponds likes pearls decorating the bamboo sea. In autumn, the harvest season, if you roam leisurely on the natural red carpets (red rocks), you can feel the beating and the breath of the Bamboo Sea .In winter, the Bamboo Sea might be snowy, and becomes more tranquil.
